Once God has spoken; twice have I heard this: that power belongs to God, and that to you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love. – Psalm 62:11-12
Two Things
It’s easy to see there is a power struggle going on in this present American culture. Followers of Christ individually and the church corporately need to remember that the two things that humanity wants most, power and love, are found in the Lord. Not only is God the Source, He keeps the two in perfect balance. The Holy Spirit indwells each person who believes in the Lord Jesus, providing both God’s love and His power. Zachariah 4:6 reminds you, “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit says the Lord of hosts.” In 1 John 4:7, you are told that “love comes from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.” The Lord enables both the believer and the Church to act in love and with power. Pray that those of faith serving in government would pause and experience the refreshing of God’s Spirit today.
